The origin of Marivaux:
In 1924 opened the Theater Marivaux, one of the most beautiful theaters of his time in Brussels. It offered a large hall with 1500 seats in an Art Deco style with a parterre and two balconies.

The construction coincided with the development of the projection halls that were seen as an innovative attraction at that time.

It is the company PATHE that managed this place with the PATHE PALACE which is located a bit further on the Anspachlaan.

From 1941 - 1943, Marivaux came under German control and became the theater used by the army.

In 1967 became 'Théâtre Marivaux' the 'Marivaux Cinema' and the original space became divided in two smaller halls at more profitable locations.

Since 1972, one after the other hall opened, now used for meeting rooms and conferences by Hotel Marivaux.

In 1991, the arrival of Kinepolis ensured that the company PATHE withdrew from the Belgian market. A few years later, the building was converted into a hotel, benefiting from the magnificent setting and location.

The old halls of Hotel Marivaux are now used for events, making the hotel a unique and perfect place for your meetings and conferences.
